We are a group of dedicated students in grades 10-12 at Danbury High School in Danbury, CT. Most of us are new this year to the program, but have adapted quite well as displayed by the success of the season so far. We have not left a VRC without at least one trophy this year, and we are shooting for top 30 on both skills world leader boards for the end of the season, with at least one of our bots.
We currently have four teams: 5150D , 5150E, 5150F, and 5150G.
Although we are four separate teams, we still collaborate with each other and work very closely together.
Since the beginning of this school year we have worked almost 200 hours together. The hard work has paid off greatly.
Regional's:
Having four top robots going into the Regional Southern New England Championship, Team 5150's hopes were extremely high. Unfortunately, while our E and D teams were running as expected, our G team had connection and mechanical issues, which caused them to have a few losses. More frustrating was out F team. All six lift motors on the robot failed on competition day, so five matches were thrown in order to fix and get F team back into business. By the end of the second day, Team 5150 had three teams, E G D, into the semifinals, with F team not being able to overcome the massive gap of nine losses due to problems. This means that Team 5150 will have strong representation at the World Championship in the form of three robots.
